The United States along with Britain, Canada, and other Allied countries had begun on their mission to defeat Germany in Europe. To do this, they had to first start in France which had been under German control since June 22, 1940. The Beaches of Normandy were the perfect gateway into the German frontier and were a vital location to be captured. As commander of the Allied forces in Operation Overlord, Dwight D. Eisenhower was the most significant member in his ability to foster cooperation through outstanding leadership qualities. Eisenhower, with a variety of techniques and skills, earned himself this title through what he was able to accomplish both politically and militarily.

Populism refers to a prominent political ideology found within Latin America. At its basis it can be seen as the elite leader(s) of a country reaching out towards the general populace, and expressing a desire to listen to general society’s wishes and represent or fulfill them through government action. It can take many forms, meaning the true sincerity and dedication of a populist leader can range from merely a public relations façade to genuine action on behalf of the people. Populism is seen as having its most prominent eras in the 1930s to 1960s and arising again in the 1980s, and to this day there are still strong examples of populist leadership (such as the earlier mentioned Hugo Chavez).

Whenever the term “The Roaring Twenties” is mentioned, most see images of people: driving through the city streets in their Model Ts and dancing into the night; while the song “Too Late” by Fletcher Henderson is somehow magically playing in the background. Those were the days filled with the luxuries of washing machines and ice boxes. But interestingly most individuals do not imagine the economic debt that the country had fallen in to, or the increase in crime and death toll due to the “Noble Experiment”, or the cultural division which was tearing at the nations seams. These “darker” elements of this time period are not enjoyable to remember but they did have an ever lasting impact on our world as we know it today.

It’s around us everywhere we go. Wireless communications is part of everyday life in today’s world. But one question that has been on the minds of many people is if the radio waves/radiofrequencies (RF) generated from wireless communications is detrimental to a person’s health. Radio waves or RFs are a form of energy that belongs to the electromagnetic spectrum. RFs refer to higher frequency waves that include radio waves and micro waves and are mainly used in telecommunications. Radio frequencies come from many sources, including TV, radio transmissions, cell phones and cell phone towers. RFs are also used in emergency communications systems, GPSs, air traffic control radar and many more uses.

Henry Ford is generally referred to as the gentleman who modernized production methods with the foundation of the assembly line and his miraculous breakthrough of the Model T car, which was set at a price affordable to nearly everyone. However, he was also a man with high morals and convictions trying to make the world a better place. Ford did more than just industrialize America; he also aided in World War II, donated absurd amounts of money to public works projects, hospitals, and educational facilities, and set the bar for a new standard of living. Through sheer determination, extreme commitment, and a positive work ethic Henry Ford played a major role not only in revolutionizing and exponentially increasing business productivity, but also increasing living conditions and making daily tasks much easier.

To a certain extent the events of 1905 were certainly ‘revolutionary’ and there is evidence that Russia at that time was poorly governed through obsolete autocracy, repression and economic downfall. Referring to concerns of the outdated government was clearly expressed. On the other hand, other causes that had caused discontent among the Russian people could have been peacefully dissolved without bringing any disruption to Tsar’s government, so after 1906, when a promise of the dumaand fundamental laws was promised to the people things were calm which brought contention, according to that it could be argued that’there was nothing “revolutionary” about the so called revolution of 1905 and its aftermath’.

The Death Penalty

The death penalty is the deprivation of life resolved by the law as a punishment (usually for especially grave crimes). In the developed countries the death penalty is usually preceded by trials because the defendant has the right to lodge an appeal. It often results in long period between the sentence and the serving of the sentence. Sometimes years and even decades can pass. This happened in the USA to Jack Alderman who was sentenced to death for the murder of the wife on June, 14th, 1975 at the age of 24 years, and was executed only on September, 16th, 2008 at the age of 57 years, more than 33 years later.

Sources of oil supply

On August 2, 1990, Iraq invades Kuwait. Both of these countries are rich with great sources of oil supply. This led to a great dispute between both countries on the gain of their wealth. They both belonged to the United Nations Council at the time. Iraq protested that Kuwait is a province of theirs, so therefore the country belonged to them. The United Nations did not recognize the claim that Iraq had made about the ownership of Kuwait. So on August 7, 1990, is when the United States was involved, calling it Operation Desert Shield.
